23rd of November, 2008It took me an eternity and then some, but I finally got this revamp done (or as done as it will ever be). After an age, this nagging feeling that's been haunting me for more than a year can learn to shut up. Aaah, feels good! One of the main concerns I paid attention to during this revamp was accessibility. I've re-organised the content so that the sections that all fall under one heading are all on the same page. Honestly, they weren't taking up that much room and I don't see why I had to have them all on separate pages with links flying all over the place. Why should you click on a link just for the sake of reading two sentences? Beats me. The layout this time round is also far more "simple" that what Kachiky has previously known. As time has passed "practicality" has begun to look more and more appealing to me. Leave the "artsy" for the art site and the "poetic rambling" for the writing portfolio, where they belong! And of course, I could finally, finally tidy up the network page. No more dead links, so you'll notice that the list has shrunk significantly. One addition, however, is my oekaki board, which has been open for a long while now, but was never listed in the previous version. Lastly, I've redone the 404 page (no link, if you want to see it -- and trust me there's not much to see -- you'll have to get lost on your own) because the old one was ridiculously old, and also very silly. My contact page has also been refreshed. On the unlikely chance that you've been closely following what I've been doing for the past year or so, you would have noticed that I've been most active in art-related activities (or well, I don't really think of what I do as "art", but for covenience's sake I chuck the term out here and there). Much of my efforts are concentrated in that direction, so you can expect that in future it is that aspect (or subdomain, haha) of Kachiky which will undergo the most growth. I do have a few other things in mind, but I like to keep secrets and don't like to make promises, so all I can say is: to everyone who has, thank you for sticking with me this long, and please keep your eyes open for what's ahead! |
